Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawal Policy
The Journal of Innovative Research and Technology (JIRT) has established a clear withdrawal policy to maintain fairness, transparency, and the integrity of the scholarly publishing process. Authors are requested to carefully read and follow the guidelines below before submitting a withdrawal request.
Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors may withdraw their manuscript before the peer review process begins without any charges.
A formal email to the editorial office is required to confirm the withdrawal request.
Withdrawal After Peer Review Begins
Once a manuscript has been sent for peer review, significant editorial and reviewer resources have already been invested.
Therefore:
-
A withdrawal fee may be charged if the author initiates withdrawal after peer review has started.
-
The manuscript will not be withdrawn unless the author provides a valid reason and receives written confirmation from the editorial office.
Unethical Withdrawal
If authors withdraw the manuscript with the intention to submit it elsewhere without notifying the journal, or fail to respond after peer review feedback:
-
The journal may blacklist the authors for a specified duration.
-
The authors’ affiliated institutions may be notified when necessary.
-
Such actions are considered a violation of publishing ethics based on COPE guidelines.
Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal after acceptance is strongly discouraged and allowed only in exceptional cases, such as:
-
Major errors discovered by the authors
-
Ethical concerns
-
Issues that compromise the integrity of the research
If withdrawal is approved after acceptance:
-
The APC (if already paid) cannot be refunded
-
A withdrawal notice will be maintained in the journal records to preserve academic transparency
Withdrawal After Publication
Once an article is published, it cannot be withdrawn.
Only formal correction, retraction, or removal procedures—as guided by COPE—can be applied in cases of:
-
Ethical misconduct
-
Data falsification or fabrication
-
Duplicate publication
-
Legal complications
Procedure for Requesting Withdrawal
To request a withdrawal, the corresponding author must submit:
-
A signed formal request stating the reason for withdrawal
-
Manuscript title and submission ID
-
Name and affiliation of all authors
The editorial office will review the request and respond within 5–10 working days.
